Infinigen Closes $33 Million Tax Equity Investment in Yabucoa Solar, Secures $26 Million Commitment for Battery Storage Expansion

Financing from Foss & Company advances Infinigen’s third utility-scale project in Puerto Rico and expands Infinigen’s energy storage platform

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — August 26, 2026 Infinigen (“the Company”), an independent power producer based in Puerto Rico, today announced the closing of a $33 million tax equity investment in the Yabucoa Solar Project from Foss & Company. The transaction includes an additional $26 million commitment toward a future Yabucoa battery storage project, to be developed at the same site.

The financing advances construction of Yabucoa Solar Park (“Yabucoa Solar”), a 42.6 MW DC facility that will become Infinigen’s third utility-scale project in Puerto Rico, joining the operating Horizon Solar Park and Oriana Solar Park. Together, the three projects represent 115 MW DC of affordable, reliable energy. The $26 million commitment also marks the Company’s entry into standalone battery storage. Infinigen is wholly owned by a fund managed by ArcLight Capital Partners (“ArcLight”), a leading infrastructure investor which has been investing in critical electrification infrastructure since its founding in 2001.

Once operational, Yabucoa Solar is expected to deliver affordable, reliable power to a grid where electricity costs remain among the highest in the nation. Its battery systems are designed to stabilize the grid and shift power to off-peak hours, and its facilities are built to withstand 156-mph winds and flooding, improving resilience for communities prone to storm-related outages. Construction of Yabucoa Solar has also created 140 local direct and indirect jobs, with Infinigen partnering with the Yabucoa Mayor’s office on hiring.

“This transaction represents an important milestone for Infinigen and, most importantly, for Puerto Rico’s energy future,” said Leslie Hufstetler, CEO of Infinigen. “By bringing together experienced partners and long-term investment capital, we are accelerating the deployment of critical renewable energy infrastructure that will help strengthen the island’s electric system. Projects like Yabucoa demonstrate that Puerto Rico can attract sophisticated institutional investment while advancing a more reliable, resilient, and affordable energy future. This investment helps move Puerto Rico closer to greater energy independence, improved grid reliability, and long-term economic growth. We are proud to partner with Foss & Company in helping deliver infrastructure that will provide lasting benefits to Puerto Rico and its communities.”

“Puerto Rico’s grid needs exactly this kind of investment: dispatchable storage paired with new generation that can keep the lights on when it matters most,” said Bryen Alperin, Partner and Managing Director at Foss & Company. “Infinigen understands the island’s energy challenges better than most, and these projects are a direct response to them. Between Puerto Rico, Guam and Hawaii, we’ve built deep expertise financing island energy infrastructure. This is the kind of deal that reflects what Foss & Company looks for: strong sponsors, real community impact, and continued momentum in a relationship we value.”
