Driven by a surge of new data centers and manufacturing facilities, the Southeast must add tens of gigawatts of new generation. State commissions and utilities must dramatically ramp up procurements, sometimes doubling current system capacities, to meet this demand. Customers, meanwhile, are increasingly demanding clean, firm, and reliable energy, creating an enormous growth opportunity for the renewable energy sector.
